Insulating Glass Units (IGU's) consist of 2 or 3 panes of glass, a gas fill, sealants and a spacer system.
The TGI-Spacer is the profile that separates the panes of glass, preventing gas from leaking and improving the thermal performance via "warm edge" technology.
The heat lost through an IGU via the spacer is due to the process of conduction. Heat transfers from a hot to a cold environment. The system is described as a “warm edge” system if the energy losses between the inside and outside of the window remain low.
Warm edge spacers offer a pleasant climate within a room and save energy, while keeping the clean aesthetics of your door, roof or window unit.
The TGI-Spacer is classified as a “warm edge” product in accordance with EN ISO 10077-2:2003.
